One of our members, William Hawkins, has shared some of his writings with us. Here is some information about him, along with stories he has shared.  Others will be posted as he provides them.  Thanks, Bill.

I served on USS Seawolf SSN-575 in the ’70’s and was glad I did. I was a YN3(SS) with Top Secret clearance.  I was the junior yeoman out of three.  Most of the time I was used as a sonar watch-stander or as lookout/diving stand filler.

A few years later I was going to go into the Navy Reserves but they threatened me with a skimmer.  I joined the National Guard reserves as a ‘scout’ in the Armored Calvary for a couple of years.

I started writing after that and from memory and imagination. My works are generally based on true events.  I then take liberties with the specifics.  I try and never use names or dates.  Then no one can take credit or get mad.  I tell no secrets.

I’m starting to put my ‘works’ together to see what I have.  I may submit some of them for publication in the future. Most of the stories are of my time in the navy.  Some are based on police stories.  I write some on life events.  I’m not published at this point.
